Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also sings. She is the youngest female and also the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is an Indian young sitar artist. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. Her childhood years were split between London in London and New Delhi. Her debut concert was in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. After moving to Encinitas, CA in 1999 she received an honorary high school degree. Her career as a recorder and performer is remarkable, even at her age. She regularly accompanies her father during performances, something she's done for a number of years. She released her debut album in 1998. debuted Anourag as her debut single album. She released the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year after. Her stage career is very broad as she's performed in most of the major stages in the world. Her career extends beyond the realm of music. In 2002, she wrote the book Bapi The love of My Live this is a pictorial biography which gives a special tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. She also acted on film in 2003. Her role was as a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shankar's work continues to grow and we're likely to see a lot from her in years to follow. Anoushka spent a lot of traveling between London and Delhi during her young years. Later, she moved to California to finish high school. She began studying music when she was nine years old and was a sitar player in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi four years later. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of knowledge by traveling across the globe with the father. She performed in Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. To honor her position as a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
